To Re-heat or Not to Re-heat?

To heat or not to heat, that is the question. There wouldn’t be a wintery day that goes by without a child coming up to the canteen to ask if we could heat up their lunch for them. The issues with that are endless, and that’s just from a food safety point of view.  Who know’s how long the lunch has been sitting at room temperature being given the opportunity to grow nasty bacteria that could cause food poisoning.  And if that does happen, who’s responsible for it?  The canteen or the child?  Best not to go here and hey – its a great way to promote hot foods being purchased through the canteen to boost your sales!
