Fresh Tastes @ School (NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy) - A 6 hour course offered through TAFE NSW to develop the knowledge required by canteen supervisors and canteen workers in order to implement the Fresh Tastes @ School NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy. Canteen Operations (9551) - The course has industry recognition as a course of benefit to employees in the area of food canteen operations. This course has been recognised by Healthy Kids School Canteen Association as an appropriate course to be undertaken by persons involved in the Canteen Sector. The subjects covered are: Nutrition Applications in Food Service, Implement Food Hygiene, Procedures, Workplace Hygiene, Food Transport and Storage, Receive and store kitchen supplies.
Implement Food Safety Procedures (17987) - This course provides the skills and knowledge to handle food safely during the storage, preparation, display, service and disposal of food within a range of service industry operations.

- 22293 Food Safety Workshop - This course will train participants to improve their understanding of the Food Safety Standards.
- 17986 Workplace Hygiene - This course is for people working or intending to work in food preparation. They will learn how to apply and maintain hygiene practices in a variety of food preparation areas and become familiar with the government Acts and Regulations relevant to food safety.
- 27277 Association of Independent Schools Program - This course is designed for the Association of Independent Schools. Participants will learn the skills and knowledge to follow food hygiene procedures in school food handling areas.
Local councils also offer hygiene education courses, so check with your local council.
